Biography

Proficient in figure and portrait subjects, Lester utilizes traditional drawing and painting techniques in a decidedly contemporary fashion. His subject matter is for the most part woman. He favors dramatic and intimate compositions, playing with the space and the viewers’ senses by having them explore the surface of the painting.

In all, Lester’s vibrant and earthy paintings reflect clarity of vision, passion, and a spiritual focus brings to mind of earlier postmodernism and deconstructivism painters.  Lester was raised in a small town in Chihuahua Mexico and currently resides in Tucson AZ. He studies Graphic Design and Illustration at the University of Arizona.

The Nature of Art

Nature has been a form of inspiration for me, it has come to transform my thinking over the time, achieving to express my thoughts and feelings through drawings and paintings using wood and other objects found in nature. I am interested in introducing the human body and nature into my ideas, as well part of my culture and customs. Photography has taken an important part in my ideas, capturing the places and moments that inspire me to continue my passion of art. These forms help me to communicate and express what I can not say with words... powers of expression that help me to be more human and try to understand the meaning of life ... the mission to which we were assigned...that is the motive to keep on living...
